Garlic Lemon Chicken with Creamy Dill Sauce

Updated: Jan 3

Garlic, lemon, olive oil. These are flavors I come back to again and again, especially when I want something simple but full of life. This chicken is juicy, lightly browned, and bright with lemon, paired with a cool, creamy dill sauce that balances everything out.

It’s the kind of dish that feels at home on a Mediterranean table. I usually serve it with rice or roasted vegetables, something to catch the sauce, and that’s dinner sorted.

Ingredients

For the Chicken:

  • 2 chicken breasts, pounded thin

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • Juice of 1/2 lemon

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

For the Dill Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt

  • 1 garlic clove, minced or grated

  • Juice of 1/2 lemon

  • 1-2 tablespoons fresh dill, finely chopped

  • Pinch of salt and black pepper

Instructions

Marinate the chicken

Place the chicken breasts in a shallow dish. Mix the garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and pepper, then coat the chicken evenly. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.

Cook

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken for about 4–5 minutes per side, until golden and cooked through. Remove from the pan and let it rest briefly.

Make the dill sauce

In a small bowl, mix the Greek yogurt, garlic, lemon juice, dill, salt, and pepper. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.

Serve

Serve the chicken warm with the dill sauce spooned over or on the side. It pairs well with rice, potatoes, or roasted vegetables, and also works nicely with a crisp green salad.
